Policies & Procedures

  • All inbound shipments are visually inspected and item count verified by Central Receiving personnel immediately upon receipt

  • Notation of any damages or shortages will be noted with the carrier - ISU end customer will then be notified

  • ISU end customer is responsible for reporting any concealed damages to Central Receiving & freight company within 5 business days of receipt from carrier

    • Concealed damages must be claimed with freight carrier within 5 business days of receipt

  • ISU end customer is responsible for physical inspection of all items, including piece counts or damages if items are stored at Central Receiving for more than 5 business days

    • Missing items or concealed damages must be claimed with freight carrier within 5 business days of receipt

  • All deliveries are submitted into an ISU electronic tracking system for supply chain visibility 

  • All original shipment paperwork is delivered with the items to the ISU end customer

    • Electronic copies are available upon request

  • All package deliveries are redelivered same day of receipt, given exceptions

  • All freight deliveries are schedule for last mile delivery with the ISU end customer via phone call or email, expedited services available

  • All freight items are delivered to the specific building loading dock area at no charge

  • All inside freight deliveries (i.e. lab delivery) or assembly is available but is subject to a delivery or handling fee

  • Central Receiving does not accept any personal items or collect shipments of any kind

  • Any item can be picked up directly from Central Receiving, please call 515-294-1804 prior to pick up. Pick up hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM M-F
